Ever since we were little kids we used to hear quite a bit of the word "caution". A word that leads the little boy or girl to believe that the world is dangerous because he or she has to be careful of everything, and also that they cannot trust their judgment because they are constantly told what to do. So in our culture there is no room for mistakes, in addition we practice from a young age how not to trust ourselves, this is what leads to mediocrity.
The person will not try to get out of his comfort zone because he is afraid of making a mistake. He will stay in the safe and familiar place to reduce the chances of making a mistake. He will not try to do things differently because what everyone else is doing is safer. He will give up his potential, who he can become, in favor of the known place where there is no chance of him failing.
The way to cross this is to start recognizing your successes. When you start recognizing things that you do well, you increase your self-confidence. From there you increase both the motivation to act, and the ability to dare more. It's mind training, practice, ability that can be developed.
To begin to identify the things you do well you should start looking at success more broadly than you are familiar with. Until today, the definition of success was - to succeed in achieving something we really wanted. This is usually called success if it is something special and unusual. Something that does not happen much and is very specific. And here's the broader definition of success - every little thing you wanted and succeeded, everything done according to your plan, every fear crossing, every new thing you learned, every other point of view you got, every mistake identification.
We have so many successes during the day that we just do not pay attention to them.
